The regular monthly meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held January 12, 2009
at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage,
Missouri, 65668.
Vice -President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to
order at 10:00am.
The following persons were present:

Fitts, Treasurer
Eva Cooper, Trustee
Stacy
Coulsell, Library Administrator
President Doris Frye and Secretary Sharon Barrett were
absent; attendance was taken via expense voucher.
A motion to approve
the agenda was made by Eva Cooper, seconded by Gerda Fitts, all in favor and the motion carried unanimously.
The minutes from the December8, 2008 meeting were reviewed, after reviewing the minutes and
noting one correction to be made, Gerda Fitts made the motion to approve the minutes as written, and Eva Cooper seconded the
motion. All in favor, and the motion carried unanimously.
Administrator
Coulsell gave her monthly Administrator’s Report; she reported that the Story Hour with both the Preschool and Head
Start groups continued. Coulsell reported that the Library had received the final disbursement of funds
from the Lowell Lee Clinton estate and that money would be used for the renovating of the Children’s Area.
Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Report for the Library, the balance as of
January 12, 2009 was $38,790.30. This balance is the total of both of the Library’s accounts.
After hearing the Financial Report Gerda Fitts made the motion to accept the Library’s Financial Report as given.
Eva Cooper seconded the motion, all in favor and the motion carried unanimously.
Coulsell
presented the Library’s Circulation Report for the month of December. There were 26 new cards issued
and Total Circulation for the month
of December was 3992. Total circulation for the year was 53, 166.
Under
President’s Report—there was nothing to report as President Doris Frye was absent
Under
Association Report—none, as Association President Sharon Barrett was absent.
Under
Friends Report— there was none as Friends President Doris Hutton was absent.
Under
Old Business—Administrator Coulsell reported that all of the 2008 Equalization funds had been expended.
Under New Business, Treasurer Gerda Fitts made the announcement that the Historical Society
would be meeting in the Library’s Community Room, the second Tuesday of each month at 1:00pm, during the months of January
thru April. The Board discussed the Library’s share in the joint septic tank. After
much discussion Eva Cooper moved to share the cost of any upcoming repair or upkeep with the joint owners of the septic tank.
Gerda Fitts seconded the motion, all in favor, and the motion carried unanimously.
Hearing no public comment and having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:42am.
The Next Meeting is to be February 9, 2009.
